Westerly, Rhode Island is celebrating its 350th

Westerly, Rhode Island is celebrating its 350th anniversary year. The Ocean Community Chamber is Commerce is leading the Westerly 350th Anniversary Committee. Over $110,000 in sponsorship has been raised in the local community. A commemorative beer has been created for the occasion, with all proceeds benefiting this fund. There are numerous historical lectures, two black-tie galas, a light parade,  time capsule opening event, and an Olde Tyme fair with more than $40,000 worth of free entertainment and activities.  A special piece of commissioned art featuring notable landmarks was produced and has been made into commemorative puzzles beachtowels and posters. 345 minute documentaries are also being created as part of this initiative.  The committee produced an historical souvenir book, commemorative coins, Limited addition ornaments, and T-shirts and sweatshirts as part of the collectible offerings.
